Dr. Christy Matusiak earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biology and Psychology from Cornell College, Mt. Vernon, IA, and concurrently fulfilled her premedical coursework. In 2009 she graduated from the National University of Health Sciences, in Lombard, IL, with a Doctorate of Chiropractic (DC) degree. She has completed over 600 hours of basic and advanced coursework training in Professional Applied Kinesiology (PAK), while maintaining membership status in the International College of Applied Kinesiology (ICAK), and the American Chiropractic Association (ACA).
Utilizing the technique of Applied Kinesiology (AK) sets her apart from other chiropractors, many of whom will use pain-suppressing modalities, which only mask the symptoms instead of addressing the underlying cause. Her practice emphasizes spinal and extremity manipulation, muscle work, cranial/TMJ corrections, reflexology, acupuncture meridian balancing, nutrition, and lifestyle modification to enhance overall health.
She enjoys treating individuals and families for various conditions including musculoskeletal problems, injuries, digestive complaints, skin disorders, colds/infections, blood pressure/cholesterol issues, asthma, and much more! Dr. Matusiak is truly committed to her role in natural healthcare and holistic medicine. Her goal is always to help you achieve optimal health and wellness by balancing your body physically, chemically, emotionally, and energetically.
Dr. Matusiak has always had an active lifestyle, and sincerely enjoys volleyball and running. She ran her first marathon in October 2009 in Chicago, and first half marathon (13.1) in June 2009, as well as several 5 and 10K races. Dr. Matusiak has been happily married to her husband, Jason, since 2005, and they have a wonderful son, Evan, who was born August 2010. Her other hobbies include scrap booking, reading, listening to music, and being outdoors with friends and family.
